The simulator incorporates an extensive library of simulated ship models; comprising vessels of different tonnage, dimension, and hull forms; including container ships, tankers, tug boats, gas carriers, fishing vessels, passenger ships, ferries, and special purpose naval and commercial vessels. Mathematical models of the ships and ship equipment, physical forces, and effects have been based on the results of research carried out by ship/tug Captains and hydrodynamicists and comply with the highest possible global standards.
Hydrodynamic Effects
Transas ship and tug models exhibit realistic interactive behaviors; such as squat, bank effect, and ship-to-ship interaction. These effects are a function of the hydrodynamic models and vary depending on the speed and proximity of bottom, banks, and other vessels. For the purpose of illustration, or to refine the behaviors of a vessel type, the simulation operator can adjust the strength of these forces.
Model Editing
Mathematical models of ships and ship equipment can be edited using a Model Editing Tool. This program allows the user to adjust the ship mathematical model and thus create individual models for specific needs.
