Course Description

This course is required by Able Seamen upgrading to 3rd/2nd Mates. This 2-day course provides the trainee with knowledge of the contents of the IMO Merchant Ship and Rescue Manual (MERSAR), and the procedures necessary to respond to a distress signal at sea.
