Playback / Reporting Capabilities

The ship and tug simulators have video and audio recording systems that include digital screen capture and full recording capabilities of simulated actions during the exercise. The playback and recording features are provided to enable monitoring of specific performance that can be used during the testing and evaluation process. Every action that is recorded can be re-played in real-time, fast time, or exported to assist in the reporting process.

The recording capabilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Swept Path
Vessel Position and Distance from Navigational Hazards
Rudder Use
Engine Use
Speed (Forward and Sideways)
Drift Angle
Tug Use

Chart View Playback

The graphic below shows the chart view playback feature. Multiple information can be displayed in one view; including ship/tug engine and rudder use, swept path of vessels, position and speed, course over ground, heading, etc.

Camera View Playback

One of the most unique and powerful features of the Transas Simulator is its camera view option during playback. The operator can "fly" the camera and view the simulated scene from any angle or distance, even from below the water surface to view bottom clearance. This feature also allows for unlimited screen capture options for illustration purposes.

Numerical

All paramaters of the simulation is recorded numerically for export.  Over 200 data points are recorded including Principal Parameters of ownship movement, main forces and moments acting on ownship, tug forces and moments for up to six tugs and a traffic report containing tracks of all traffic.
