Introduction

This STCW95 training program is designed for the experienced Mariner who wants to upgrade to Master’s level. This program offers all the requirements for the Mate to upgrade, including practical assessments of skill for evaluation of abilities, which are required by the USCG. The courses required for this upgrade are outlined below under the heading ‘Mate to Master’. For more information ask for our “Mate to Master Booklet”.

NOTE:

PMI is currently offering Advanced Shiphandling and ECDIS on a regular basis.  We highly recommend the Maritime Institute of Technology & Graduate Studies (MITAGS) as your resource to complete all of the required courses for upgrading to Chief Mate / Master.  Please contact the Mitags admissions office at Admissions@mitags.org, or 866 656-5568 for a complete program schedule.

Program Overview

Total clock hours for required courses: 420 hours
Total weeks to completes program: 12 weeks
Scope: After completing this training individuals will be ready to sit for the USCG Chief Mate/Master exams.

Recommended sequence of courses:
CHS-ADV, VPEN, ECDIS, ADVSTB, MPP, WKP-ADV, SHMGT, WX-ADV, SHSADV.
